Robin Lingg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ringier Sports Media Group:

“I greet Miklós Ilku at Sportal.hu, it is a great pleasure for us to confirm such a strong media professional to our team. Sports media is one of the strategic pillars for Ringier on an international level, and we strengthen our ambitions with intensive investments, technological developments, high-quality content and a strong team of professionals in 8 countries. The arrival of Miklós is a contribution to these aspirations. I would also like to thank Tamás Szekeres for ensuring the continuity of the editorial office’s management until the arrival of his colleague in August.”

A month ago, the Swiss-based Ringier Sports Media Group and Ringier Hungary jointly announced a change in the editorial management of their Hungarian sports media platform sportal.hu with Managing Editor Tamás Szekeres replacing departing Editor-in-Chief István Kecskés ad-interim. In its announcement in April, Ringier Sports Media Group emphasized its goal of becoming the leading sports media platform for Hungarian fans. With an average of more than one and a half million readers per month, the brand is well on its way to reaching this milestone.

Ottó Kiss, managing director of Sportal.hu:

“We have a lot of development plans for the brand both from the content and the business side. Fortunately, we can work with a very strong team of professionals, and I believe that the arrival of Miklós will give us another boost to the realization of our plans. On behalf of the team, I welcome him on board.”
