Ringier Sports Media Group signs up for Legends Charity Game

The Legends Charity Game, the high-profile football event set for 15 September 2025 in Lisbon, is excited to unveil a strategic media partnership with Ringier Sports Media Group (RSMG), one of Europe’s fastest growing and most innovative sports media companies.

The Legends Charity Game brings together football legends from Portugal – captained by Figo and managed by Costinha – and a World Legends team managed by Peter Schmeichel and captained by Ronaldinho. The event is being held to raise over €1 million for vital causes, including the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and Cáritas Portuguesa, supporting communities affected by war and humanitarian crises.

The match is expected to attract 60,000 fans at premier venues such as Estádio da Luz or José Alvalade, and draw millions via global broadcast and stream.

Under this deal, RSMG will serve as the strategic partner of the Legends Charity Game, providing expansive coverage across editorial, video, and audio formats. Fans will enjoy behind-the-scenes features, player interviews, live match reporting, and post-event highlights across RSMG’s sports media platforms — ensuring seamless, high-impact storytelling that transcends borders.

The partnership is designed to leverage A BOLA’s power and audience in Portugal, as well as the other media brands of the group in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Netherlands, Hungary, Slovakia.

Stilian Shishkov, Senior Partner at RSMG, commented: “At RSMG, we exist to bring the passion of sport to life. Partnering with the Legends Charity Game is a powerful opportunity to harness that passion for good — by amplifying the stories, the players, and the causes that matter most.”

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC Events and Sport Global Group, which organises the Legends Charity Game, added: “RSMG’s reach, and journalistic excellence make them a perfect partner to help us elevate the event’s message globally and drive support for vital humanitarian efforts.”

RSMG, headquartered in Zofingen, Switzerland, operates an impressive network of seven national sports media brands in seven countries. Its portfolio includes influential outlets like A Bola (Portugal), sportal.bg, gsp.ro, Sportal.rs, Sportal.hu, Sport.sk, and Sportnieuws.nl. These brands reach a broad audience and show high engagement, a reflection of RSMG’s strategic playbook built on strong local brands, experienced teams, and group-wide technological innovation.

The partnership marks a significant step forward in enriching the Legends Charity Game’s media impact and connecting with sports fans across Europe and beyond. It solidifies the event’s standing not only as a marquee charity fixture but also as a powerful communications platform aligned with RSMG’s mission to innovate in sports media.
