In a strategic move that will strengthen the Dutch sports media landscape, the newly founded joint venture between Ringier Sports Media Group AG (RSMG) and DPG Media Group is now officially underway. The key highlight of this joint venture is the transformation of Sportnieuws.nl, leveraging the strong resources and expertise of RSMG. Their playbook will be implemented to enhance and revamp the content and user experience on the platform. Sportnieuws.nl is expected to go online in mid-January 2024.
The collaboration brings together the best of both worlds. Sportnieuws.nl is known for being the only fully sports-focused media platform in the portfolio of DPG Media Group. Sportnieuws.nl has a large social media followership in the Netherlands, making it a strong asset for this collaboration. Rhian Ket has been appointed as managing director and Twan Bovée as editor-in-chief of Sportnieuws.nl.
The joint venture between RSMG and DPG Media Group holds a great deal of promise for the future of sports media in the Netherlands.
